Excuse Me While I Pack My Bags and Move House

Farewell

Time flies. When I was a child I never thought I would ever become an adult one day. Time seemed to be stuck in one spot and I didn’t feel I was getting older day by day. Yet it is 2007 February already and it is time to move.

Yes, I have implied many times on this blog, so some of you may know already. I am moving to Australia (I also want to say that I am married to an Australian guy, not an American as some people seem to think).

I have been very busy from the end of last month and this week has been the most crazy week in 2 years. You know, moving involves a lot of work, especially when it comes down to international moving. That is why I haven’t been able to post new recipes recently and I also don’t have anyting left in my kitchen to cook (ingredients or kitchen ware etc).

Yet while I am moving My Korean Kitchen to Australia, I won’t close it down. Though the food I serve you might be slow for a short while.

I will still be posting, but please have patience on any of those big requests I know many of you have.

Thank you.

I hope that the move goes smoothly and that your adjustment to life in Australia will be an easy transition. I think I mentioned it in a comment before, but according to my husband (who lived there for a year) Australia is utopia. But then I’m sure your husband will also vouch for that fact!

So, the big day has arrived! Hope the move goes smoothly and I’ll be eagerly awaiting your posts from down under!

Just found this site, so I will have plenty of backtracking to do to keep me busy.

Fortunately there is a Korean grocery store not two miles from my house, so I hope to be able to try most of the recipes.

    Good luck with your move!

When you’re all settled we look forward to more recipes from your Korean Kitchen. Safe Travelling!

Oooh Australia is wonderful! I hope you really enjoy it here and I hope your move is smooth and not too stressful! I hate moving house, and I only moved 30 minutes away, I couldn’t imagine moving internationally!

Moving is indeed a chore. I have moved back and forth between the US and Korea 5 times.
That said, many new adventures await you and I’m sure that you will do just fine.
It seems you have quite a few fans in Australia, perhaps some of them will be close enough to help you get settled in.
    Good luck and best wishes.

I finally found Gochujang at an international supermarket in Tokyo, so I’m crossing my fingers that there are more recipes to come before I work my way through your archives :)
As an Australia (though one who is living in Japan) welcome! I hope you love living there. (And if you’re in Melbourne, I’ve got a few restaurant recommendations…)

  25. 25 jess Mar 5th, 2007 at 6:05 pm

im a student currently studying in melbourne. i find it very tiring to cook my own meals, esp when there is so much to do in college, so i discovered that korean (and japanese) seemed to have alot of foods that can be made and stored and be eaten out of the fridge! unlike chinese meals. brrr…

hopefully, you can share with me, and us more recipes on these kinda of dishes!

i havent been i melbourne long, about 2 weeks, but so far so good. i hope you like australia too! which part are you moving though?

    cheers :)

  26. 26 sue Mar 7th, 2007 at 6:18 pm

    Hi Jess,
If you look at the side dishes categoty, most of foods can be stored in the fridge for a couple of days so you don’t have to rush around every meal time. And of course I will share more recipes with you soon.
    Take care.
