Excuse me while I stop and smell the flowers

(Flowers from Toowoomba Flower Festival)

Hello readers! It’s been a real long time. Thank you for your concerns about my well being and your patience with my blog. I’ve been intending to write a post for a long time but starting a new job and being denied access to my photo album (external hard drive) kept me staying away from the blogging.

I want you to know that this blog will be more active again from this point and the first recipe coming up is Noodles in Chicken Soup (Dak Kalguksu).

Are you starting to warm up? :)

    Rosa,
Then you should make your husband buy a real authentic kimchee freezer!

I am a adopted Korean in the US. I went back to Korea for the first time last year. I stayed with this korean family and they had their normal kitchen refrigerator/freezer. Then they had this separate Kimchee freezer is what they called it. It kept the temperature right at 0 or -1 C. Apparently its the most ideal temperature for Kimchee and keeps it really fresh. The couple I stayed with were in their 60’s, and she made everything from scratch including her own kimchee. I have to say her kimchee was the best Ive ever had throughout Korea and even in the US. She also made this other kimchee called Mooshin Kimchee? It was slices of Kimchee with slices of octopus and squid…it is my new favorite dish.

Came across your blog looking for a recipe for daenjangchigae – it’s now bookmarked as a Favorte. Wonderul blog – thank you. You’re lucky your husband appreciates Korean food. I am a Korean American married to an American and he won’t let me keep kimchi in the fridge.
