A couple of weeks ago, Jen from Jenius (a Sydney based food blogger) contacted me and asked whether I was interested in sharing about Korean Lunar New Year’s Day culture on ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) radio. I was very shocked at first. It was only a few days after I came back to blogging from my hiatus so I didn’t expect any spotlight upon my come back.
Regardless, I was very hesitant to say yes because I knew that I am not the best person to represent Korean culture in Brisbane or in Australia and also expressing my ideas in writing is much easier than speaking on the radio!
Luckily it wasn’t a live program and it was a casual phone interview, except that I didn’t have much time to prepare for the interview. I particularly had some difficulty explaining Yutnori (윷노리) as I wasn’t prepared at all for this and I hope you don’t laugh at me.
So, if you would like to hear my “Kimchi flavoured” Konglish voice, you can listen via Youtube below. I only selected the part I was involved in (7 mins long!). Now I am *blushing*.
